Level 47 - Gorgon

 

Gorgon is a horizontally-scrolling shoot 'em up Apple II computer game released in 1981 developed by Sirius Software, Inc. Gorgon is an early monochrome  clone of the arcade game Defender. It was written in the E-Z Draw assembly language by Nasir Gebelli.

In Gorgon, the player flies a spaceship across a side-scrolling landscape while protecting civilians on the ground from aliens that drop down from the top of the screen to try to carry them off.

There was also a version of this game for the PC around the same time period, though it is apparently a rare item today.
