Life changing
People by Knight on Feb 06, 2010
I’m not sure what is was at all that compelled me to write this, but then again to be honest I’m not complaining. There are a few people in my life that have made an impact on who I am. Some real people you all know, some fictional like from a book or something, some are (if you believe in them) Guardians Spirits. But I want to talk about someone important to me. I’ve spoken about him once before, all good but not about how he personally affected me. I think it’s time I’ve finally said what I’ve wanted to say openly to him but never could say it. He’s a great man that’s affected so much of my life and how I do what I do…
I’m of course talking about Sarwar Ron.
I met Ron back in August 17 2007 at Gamespot. I had just read his comment here
*Notice I’m the first to post after him.*
Now it wouldn’t seem like much but if I’m correct on my recollection I sent him a pm asking him about starcraft. We talked about that for a bit then went in to the topic of unions. He soon invited me to his union and that’s where the magic happened. We became good friends fast.
But it’s the things that you never knew about him and I that have been talked about outside of the public eye that really mean a lot to me. Ron is pretty much like a father to me. He’s helped me grow as a writer by promoting everything I do from small side things to some more of my skilled and main stream ideas and as a person. He promoted my WIW and all those things which weren’t any good until now. He also convinced me of what I wanted to do with my life.
I started life wanting to be a herpetologist (Not the study of Herpes… it’s actually the study of reptiles and amphibians) I’m still in to reptiles and what not but the idea of getting a job in that is hard to think of and it’s more of a hobby of mine. My older brother went to college for accounting and I had planned to follow him for a while. But once I spoke to Ron I had made up my mind. We know Ron is in Marketing. But I looked at his resume and I was just baffled. I looking in to his college major and it was amazing. I then started taking classes here in high school, I asked and talked to him about marketing and the more we spoke the more passionate I became. Now here I am, a senior, wanting to go for Business Marketing at Bloomsburg University. All thanks to him.
He’s done so much for me and I feel that I’ve done little to return the favor. So I plan to do so whenever I can. As you all know I joined NoobFeed February 1st 2009 as a tester, so I’ve been here over a year. In 9 days NoobFeed become a year old. And I want to give honor to the man that made me who I am, helped make this site what it is, and well… means so much to me.
Ron, as you read this I want you to know I Love you as a Brother, a Father, and as a Mentor. I’ve been under your wing for almost three years. You’ve done so much for me and I’ve no idea how to thank you. Someday I’ll know what I need to do to make it all up to you. Hopefully that day will be the day I work with you in the same company, maybe it’s the day that I bring the meaning of TSP to the eyes and hearts of everyone in the world, maybe at my wedding, or when you see my first born child. I don’t know what it’ll be but I’ll do something to give you whatever it is you’re looking for. I hope that in 10 years we are still good friends and that in 70 years we are both old men laughing about the kids these days as we play Final Fantasy 43 on our Playstation 16.
Thank you Ron… for everything.
