Need Advice, Buying A New Console

So I need some advice guys, I haven't been able to afford to get one of the current generation consoles until now and I'm thinking about getting a PS3 Slim. Is it too late to get one (if MS is already hiring development teams to make the next Xbox) or am I still good yet?

All answers are appreciated. :)

Second order of business:

I am working on a new editorial right now called "Welcome to the 8th Generation of Video Games" that is all about what we know so far about the upcoming console generation. It'll include all known confirmed facts, and also rumors, speculation, and predictions. I'll try to cover it all. So look forward to it sometime next week! :D
