Nobody Wants to Die: How to Get All Endings (Spoiler Free)

How to get the good (and bad) ending in Nobody Wants to Die.

Game Guide by Nine_toes on  Aug 04, 2024

Nobody Wants to Die is one of the best narrative experiences I have had in a good while. The game plays with your emotions right up until the end, of which there are two. A good ending and a bad ending. Since Nobody Wants to Die is sort of a one-and-done game, this guide will give you vague instructions to direct you toward the ending you want.

You can play Nobody Wants to Die however you wish, making whatever decisions feel right to you, until you reach the section where you go to Central Park.

This is where the final mission takes place and it should be around the 3-4 hour mark of the average playthrough. If you are playing on PC, I suggest you back your save up from this location if you want to get both endings without having to play through the whole game:

For PC Users:

%USERPROFILE%/AppData/Local/detnoir/Saved/SaveGames

You can open the file explorer on your PC and paste the line above into the large bar that is to the left of the search bar and paste it. It will take you to the location of the save file. Simply copy it and paste it somewhere else. Once you get one ending, close the game and paste the save file back into where you got it from. Boot up the game and you should find yourself at the start of the final mission once again.

For Those on Console PS5/Xbox Series:

If you are on console, you can back up your save after reaching this point but save and quitting out of the game and creating a backup of the game’s save file into a flash drive. Both the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S support this function. Once you get one ending, close the game and restore your backed-up save from your flash drive. Boot up the game and you should find yourself at the start of the final mission once again.

How to Get the Endings

After backing up your save, simply play through the sequences, and during a shootout, don’t kill anyone to get the good ending. Do the opposite to get the bad ending.

That wraps it up. It feels awkward to give such vague instructions, but to preserve the best experience of Nobody Wants to Die, I think it is worth it. Hopefully, you find some use here.
