Core Movement Mechanics

You have access to a standard Jump and a Second Jump (or air dash), which allows for greater aerial control and the ability to cross wide gaps.

Dashing is an evasive maneuver that provides quick bursts of speed, allowing you to outmaneuver enemies and navigate the environment rapidly. The Dash can also be used offensively to tackle and shatter frozen enemies.

The game features a Grappling Hook system that allows you to latch onto fixed points or environmental hooks, turning the arenas into vertical playgrounds and enabling dynamic traversal.

You can slide to navigate under obstacles or to initiate offensive moves, such as sliding into a frozen enemy to shatter them.

Certain areas are designed to allow you to use a Wall Bounce mechanic, which is a second jump triggered by touching a wall, to gain height or cross large spaces.

Rapid movement and kiting (leading enemies around the arena) remain important for avoiding enemy attacks in battles.

Mastering Movement for Combat

The game is designed around continuous movement. Staying still is not effective, so you should constantly be on the move, chaining together Jumps, Dashes, and Hook Shots.

Arenas are built with verticality in mind, featuring Jump Pads and Grapple Points. Using these elements efficiently allows you to reposition, reach high ground, or escape overwhelming hordes.

Synergy with Weapons and Tarot Cards

Movement mechanics interact with other game systems. Certain Tarot Cards, like Frostfall or Vault Drop, can trigger special effects (e.g., area-of-effect damage) upon landing from a height or after specific movement actions.

Dashing and Sliding can be combined with specific weapon alternate fires, such as the Electrodriver's electric attacks or the Stakegun's impaling ability, to set up combos.

In solo play, you can command your accompanying bots to perform certain actions, like moving to a Pressure Plate or picking up items, which can indirectly aid in maintaining your movement flow.
