People sometimes still surprise me

Rant by Horgen123 on  Jan 25, 2011

Guess I should say that parts of this blog is a rant. All are episodes I've experienced at work, or happened just outside.

At work yesterday, a somewhat older lady (60's I guess) somehow hit the store's stable with shopping baskets for our customers when she walked by. I was the cashier at the time so I all I had to do was turn my head to see who did it. She looks at me, giving me this odd look, as if it was my mistake, not hers. She didn't bother tidying up one bit of it.

Twice I've witnessed a parent running to their kids, to keep it out of harms way. Once the dad had to stop his kid from running out in the road and being hit by a car. Sure it was only something like 5 metres he had to run to get a hold of the kid, but damn I didn't expect him to run that fast to his kid. This guy must carry atleast 20 kilos to much(44 pounds or so).

The other time, mom/wife(most likely both) says: I think our car is rolling... And their dad was running, couldn't have taken him more than a couple of seconds to go reach the car, don't think the door out stopped him at all (automatic door opener is slow and don't let you open it any faster). Learned afterwards that their kids was still in the car.

There is this old lady who usually does her shopping where I work. She always think the price for food is to high. Giving her something for free and she will still say it costs to much.

One guy thinks everything is poisonous. He will ask for a new coke if the one he bought didn't taste exactly has he expected. Same goes for anything he buys actually.

That's what I wanted to blog this time, could have said more, but I didn't want you to fall asleep while reading it. . One question though, for those of you who have worked/work in retail. Experienced any odd episodes with customers?
