Getting Lumber takes a few steps, but the process is easy once you know what to do. You do not craft it right away. First, you need to unlock Scyther. This happens by placing a Tree and four leaves in the right area. After Scyther appears, you also get the move Cut, which is an important part of this process.

Once Cut is unlocked, you can start collecting the materials needed for Lumber. Without it, you cannot access the logs used for processing.

How to Get Small Logs

After unlocking Cut, look for the big piles of logs that were blocking paths earlier. You can now cut those down to get Small Logs. Trees and other wooden objects can also be used for this, so you have more than one way to farm the material. Healthy trees are especially useful when you need more logs.

This is the main farming step. You need Small Logs first, and only then can you turn them into Lumber.

How to Turn Small Logs Into Lumber

Once you have Small Logs, take them to Scyther. Talk to Scyther, give over the logs, and the work begins. Scyther processes the logs and turns them into Lumber for you. You can hand over all your logs at once, which makes things much easier when you are farming in bulk.

One Small Log turns into multiple pieces of Lumber, so it is worth collecting as many as you can before going back. This makes the material much more efficient than it first seems.

When to Collect the Finished Lumber

You do not get the finished Lumber right away. After giving the logs to Scyther, some time needs to pass. When you come back later, the Lumber will be ready to collect. After that, you can use it for crafting, storage, and other building projects that need stronger materials.

This is why it helps to drop logs off whenever you can. Let Scyther work in the background while you explore other areas and gather more resources.

Best Way to Farm Lumber Early

The easiest way to get started is the best one. Get the Scythe, learn how to Cut, and gather Small Logs from things that are in the way and other wooden items. Then, bring everything back to the processing area. Getting Lumber is a lot easier and less difficult once you know this loop.
