PRAGMATA Guide | Combat Tips

The best combat tips for dodging, spacing, and dealing damage efficiently.

In PRAGMATA, combat is most fun when every move has a purpose. Instead of constant damage spam, the game is based on timing, spacing, and short windows of opportunity. That means that to fight well, you need to stay on the move, force cleaner angles, and use the right weapon when a hack opens up an enemy.

Keep your feet light

A slow stand-and-shoot strategy falls apart quickly when bots start pushing from all sides. Dodges aren't just for defense. They make room for the next hack, change your angle, and stop enemies from destroying the arena around you. Small changes can make a fight that is out of control more manageable.

Use vertical space if the room is big enough

It's easy to overlook thrust and glide movement, but they are some of the cleanest ways to move. Moving through open space keeps the ground from getting too much pressure and gives you better sightlines for follow-up shots. It also gives a hack a little more time to finish or a special weapon to do real work before the next wave comes in.

Match the damage to the time

The Grip Gun can do regular cleaning, but the special weapons are the real swing tools. The Shockwave Gun works best when enemies are close together or out in the open. The Stasis Net is great for controlling space and slowing down a dangerous target. The most important thing is to use these tools when they change the fight, not just when you have them.

Build around breaks in armor

The damage windows that do the most damage are short, so every step before them counts. First, move to a different spot, then hack cleanly, and finally take your shots while you have the chance. That is the basic rhythm that will carry you from easy fights to harder ones. Once you get the timing right, fights stop feeling like they're too much and start feeling like they're planned.
