PS2 Disk Read Error Fixed by moi :D

Okay so, my brother just got a new PS2 game and upon putting it into the PS2 he found that he was getting the infamous PS2 disk read error.  Not only that but now everygame was giving him the error.  So first a little backstory.

We have a Launch Fat PS2, and about 5-6 years ago I myself got the disk read error and was faced with the thought that my one game system at the time wasn't working.  Well instead of sending it into sony and paying god knows how much to get it fixed there was a small shop about 20 minutes from us that was willing to fix it for 40 bucks or free of charge if it couldn't be fixed.  At the time I figured, why not.  So we got it fixed the PS2 worked perfectly fine and all was good.

So now back to tonight.  I remembered exactly what the problem was sense I had gone through it before and I figured...that maybe this time I could do something about it rather than paying money.  So I got a screwdriver and some other things and opened up the PS2 and about 30 minutes later my brother was playing his new PS2 game perfectly fine.  Why?  Because I'm awesome....lol jk.  But seriously I've learned something from this...one I really like taking electronics apart...idk, there's something cool about taking apart electronics and just looking at what's inside.  Also, idk what sony would charge to fix the Disk Read Error...but for the shop we took it to years ago to charge 40 bucks to do what I just did is an absolute rip off.  I'll openly say that if someone came to me and asked me to fix their disk read error I'd do it for free...but maybe that's just me.

For an update on other things.  I'm still deciding what reviews I will be doing.  The first one will be a bit of a retro review as I've been recently playing through the first Wild ARMS for PSOne.  That I should have up hopefully Monday/Tuesday pending no untimely deaths.  Speaking of which my friend's funeral was earlier today, unfortunately I couldn't make it but from what I hear things went as well as they could and he'll be remembered by all.

I plan on getting Broken Steel and Point Lookout dlc for Fallout on PS3, Critter Crunch, and Trine soon as far as PSN stuff goes.  Those will add to the upcoming reviews.  That's all I can think of for now.

Also, just incase anyone was wondering....the laser in the PS2 didn't blind me :D lol
