Resistance 3

In Resistance 3, players will follow the journey of Capelli, who now lives with Hale's sister. Realizing that his son has been infected, Capelli is off searching for Malikov - character known from previous games and responsible for developing a vaccine against the virus, and which resisted the alien attacks.

The overall picture is not encouraging: the Chimera already practically won the war against humans, and they are going to decimate large cities in a slow but steady pace. The few survivors formed resistance groups around the globe, even improvising in combat. As there are no more remaining power source, the survivors have to invade the alien ships and steal the power. The most disturbing fact revealed is that there isn't food on the planet ... As a result humans eat their own kind, appealing to cannibalism.

The involvement of multiple characters allows the developer to work again with the of cooperative campaign, although this time there is no room for side stories, like in Resistance 2. In the third chapter, players will have their first contact with alien plants, which explode upon impact with the firing of weapons. What further complicates Capelli's adventure in Resistance 3 is the new artificial intelligence, which allows enemies to scale walls and other objects in the search for advantage positions.

The Resistance series are also know for its original arsenal of weapons. Resistance 3 introduces the Mutator, capable of firing chemical mists that burn the skin of opponents, causing bubbles to jump from their skins. Hardest hit will explode, causing damage to other soldiers who are close. The secondary fire of this weapon makes the Chimera soldiers insain, attacking his comrades. Besides the Mutator, other classics such as Bullseye, Magnum, Carbine and Auger re-emerge. As seen in Ratchet & Clank, they can be improved through use and combat experience. A small detail on other equipment, we have grenades that are now made from cans of food, containing nails and explosives in their internal parts. J.Stevenson (Manager of the development community) has confirmed the return of the Weapon Wheel - which was adopted in the first game of the franchise.

The hype machine is already on for Resistance 3, mainly by the darker environment, the improved graphics and the twists in the war between humans and aliens. According to Insomniac Games, Resistance 3 will hit the market in 2011.
