Sunday films Vol.2 : Ronin

Welcome everyone to my Sunday films Vol.2 :) This Sunday, my recommendation is "Ronin", an action-thriller film starring Robert De Niro and Jean Reno.

But first things first. Someone may ask what the word Ronin stands for. Well, the story goes back to the feudal period of Japan, from 12th to 19th century. A ronin was actually a samurai, who has become masterless due to the fall of his master, or because his master has stopped favoring him.

Ronin was released back in 1998 with De Niro and Reno being part of a team of former special forces agents. Their aim is to steal a suitcase, which is heavily guarded and its content remains a secret.

The team members will meet in a warehouse in Paris and they will get briefed about their mission from a woman named Deirdre. They must ambush the convoy that guards that mysterious suitcase, intercept it and deliver it to the bidder, who apparently is unknown too.  Did I forget to tell you that the Russians are after the suitcase too?

Get yourself prepared for a number of double crosses, extreme action and agony, as some are willing to die for this package and everyone is prepared to kill for it. Last but not least, Ronin features one of the best car chases ever seen on a film. I don't want to reveal much about the plot of the film, as its success relies in it.

All good things come to those who wait... Enjoy the film :)
