The Gadget Report 03: 1 Billion Apps

 

 

Well, looky looky what your reading. It is the 3rd entry in my Gadget Report series. This weeks topic, The Apple Apps Store 1 Billionth download. Yes that is right. It happened.

 

 

 

 

 

As I am sure most of you are aware Apple has been hyping its app's store achievement of 1 billion app downloads. The websites counter has been climbing until today. It reached 1,000,000,000 downloads. The claimer of the humendous prize package was a 13 year ild kid. Conner Mulcahey was the lucky winner of the prize pack. He has won a $10,000 itunes gift card, Macbook Pro, 32G Ipod Touch, and a Time Capsule. What may be surprising is what he downloaded. No it wasn't the fart app that everyone thought a 13 year old kid would download, but rather a contact syncing app. The app is called Bump from Bump Technologies. very unexpected. We will have to just wait and see what he gets with all that Itunes credit. I know what I would do, Sell it for 9,500. Anyway I leave you with this oh so big number.
