The Rogue Prince of Persia Beginner's Guide | Gameplay Tips & Tricks
A concise beginner's reference for exploring biomes, gathering resources, and surviving boss encounters.

This beginner's guide explains essential systems, helpful NPCs, and practical combat and exploration techniques for The Rogue Prince of Persia.
It focuses on what to look for in each biome, how to manage resources between runs, and which behaviors reliably improve survivability and build progression.
The information is presented so that you can quickly apply it during exploration and while preparing for boss fights.

Well of Dreams Teleporter
The Well of Dreams Teleporter appears in every biome, and there are multiple Teleporters per area. Once enough Teleporters are collected, interaction with them enables fast travel between discovered points. Activation does not require explicit interaction; getting close enough for the lights to switch on will activate a Teleporter.
Interacting with a collected Teleporter reveals map icons for Chest symbols, Merchants, Children, and NPCs, so it is recommended to collect as many Teleporters in each biome as possible before proceeding to the next area.
Merchant Children
Merchant Children sell goods in exchange for coins and may spawn either in the open world or inside secret rooms. When found, a Merchant Child will always offer a Weapon, a Tool, a Medallion, and a Large Health Potion, and they always spawn next to a Teleporter.
If coins are insufficient at first discovery, proceed through the mission and return later: the Merchant Child can be located on the map with a coin symbol beside a Teleporter, allowing you to teleport back and purchase items when funds are available.
Medallions
Medallions are powerful items that trigger special effects; they can be found in Chests, Shops, and dropped by bosses.
There are four Medallion slots; when a green star appears beside a slot, placing a Medallion there will upgrade that slot.
Slot placement can create cascading upgrades—for example, placing a Medallion in the second slot may upgrade the third and fourth slots depending on available upgrade points.
Replacing Medallions carries the risk of losing upgrade points and possibly destroying the replaced Medallion; red barriers around the stars indicate potential upgrade loss.
Carefully observe the green and red indicators around the stars when placing or replacing Medallions to avoid unintended losses.

Spirit Glimmer
Spirit Glimmer is used to unlock new items in the Oasis for future runs and can be collected as world items or obtained from enemy drops. While collecting Spirit Glimmer during a stage, deposit it into the Soul Brazier, an interactable item found in the biome.
The white text in the top-right corner displays the Spirit Glimmer collected during the current stage, while purple text shows the Spirit Glimmer that has been stored and deposited into the Oasis for forging items to use on subsequent runs.
Find Astara the Blacksmith
The Astara the Blacksmith can often be found by exploring off the main path; blacksmiths commonly appear at the bottom of areas.
Visiting Astara allows upgrading weapon level and damage per second; a notable bonus is that upgrading a weapon also grants a restoration to maximum health, making weapon upgrades a valuable source of survivability.
Astara typically spawns next to a Teleporter, and the blacksmith is marked on the map with a green sword icon.
Golden Rooms
Golden Rooms (secret rooms) are identified by a door with a bright, glowing opening and are entered by interaction.
These rooms contain varied rewards and activities, such as Equipment Chests that unlock new equipment available for forging in the Oasis, regular Chests, or a Blood Altar, which permits sacrificing 250 health points to receive a random but powerful item.
It is recommended to always check these rooms when encountered.

Wall Climbing
The most reliable wall-climbing technique without platforms involves alternating between side walls and the front wall. Jump onto a side wall and perform a side-wall climb, then jump to the front wall and climb it; jump back to the side wall, continue the side-wall climb, and repeat this sequence until the desired height is reached. This method is efficient for reaching areas that appear inaccessible.
Kicking Enemies
If you don't want to put combos together, you can kill enemies by kicking them into spikes or off of high ledges. Kicking is a simple move that works well instead of complicated combos.
Vaulting Over Enemies
Vaulting Over Enemies is particularly effective because enemies cannot change direction while performing attack animations. Vaulting is useful against groups as well as single foes, allowing you to bypass attacks and counterattack or reposition safely.
Death Is Not a Bad Thing
Dying triggers pop-up vendors that spawn after repeated deaths, and these vendors provide valuable long-term benefits. The first vendor, the Sukhra Vendor, displays all Weapons and Tools that have been discovered, including detailed information; unlocked equipment can be forged at the vendor.
The second vendor to appear after additional deaths, the Apy Vendor, lists all discoverable Medallions and related information.

Access to vendor information helps plan builds and tailor future runs based on available Medallions, Tools, and Weapons. Any equipment unlocked via an Equipment Chest in a stage becomes available for forging back at the Oasis.
Charged Attacks
To deal substantial damage to multiple enemies, stun them, and then charge a weapon attack: stun durations are typically long enough to charge an attack fully, enabling mass damage or one-shot kills on multiple foes. This tactic is especially effective for clearing groups or eliminating high-value targets quickly.
Do Not Rush
Biomes and boss fights can be hard, so it's best to do a lot of exploring to get ready. Carefully explore each area to find useful things like Equipment Chests and the Blacksmith, which can help you improve your weapons and deal more damage before you fight a boss.
