Capcom Confirms 40-Minute TGS Showcase for September 16

Capcom is bringing another Capcom Spotlight to Tokyo Game Show 2026, with the presentation scheduled for Wednesday, September 16 at 7:00 a.m. Pacific Time, or 3:00 p.m. in the UK. The 40-minute Capcom Spotlight showcase is confirmed, but Capcom has not yet revealed exactly what will appear during the event.

For you, the most obvious reason to watch the Capcom Spotlight is the number of Nintendo Switch 2 projects connected to Capcom’s Tokyo Game Show lineup. Several games are expected to be on display when the Capcom Spotlight arrives, including Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, and Mega Man: Dual Override.

Given the attention these games already command, the Capcom Spotlight has a lot to work with.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance is especially notable because the Switch 2 version will bring the game to Nintendo’s newer hardware with its expansion included. Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is another major release to keep an eye on, particularly if you want a large open-world action RPG on the platform.  Meanwhile, Mega Man: Dual Override could be one of the more interesting parts of the presentation, especially for fans waiting to see more of the upcoming game.

The Tokyo Game Show lineup also includes titles that will already be available by the time the presentation airs. Pragmata, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and Street Fighter 6 are among the games scheduled for the show floor. Their presence gives Capcom another chance to highlight how its games are running on Nintendo’s hardware and what players can expect from the Switch 2 versions.

Capcom has also been having a strong run with its recent releases. Several of its games this year have earned high Metacritic averages, with Onimusha: Way of the Sword receiving particularly strong reviews most recently. Pragmata and Resident Evil Requiem have also added to that recent momentum.

For Nintendo, Capcom has become an important partner around the Switch 2 launch. The publisher has brought games to the platform on the same day as other versions, while its ports have generally focused on delivering solid performance. That makes the upcoming Capcom Spotlight more relevant if you are watching for what the publisher plans to bring to Switch 2 next.

There is also room for something unexpected.

Capcom could use the event for one or two announcements that have not been officially revealed yet, although nothing has been confirmed. One possibility being discussed is that additional announcements could first appear during the September Nintendo Direct. This is followed by deeper presentations during Capcom’s Tokyo Game Show appearance.

The Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 ports are another possibility. Claims about those versions have circulated in the background, so their appearance would not come completely out of nowhere. If they are announced during the September Nintendo Direct, the Capcom Spotlight could then provide more information about the games as part of Capcom’s Tokyo Game Show 2026 plans.

For now, the September 16 date is the key detail. The Capcom Spotlight itself is the clearest confirmed event. You can expect a 40-minute Capcom Spotlight tied directly to Tokyo Game Show 2026, with Nintendo hardware releases making up a significant part of the surrounding lineup.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, and Mega Man: Dual Override are already enough to make the presentation worth watching, while potential new announcements give Capcom some extra room. The Capcom Spotlight could also set up more coverage.
