Relics are the weapons and armor you find in Norgan, and every one of them arrives unidentified. You take them to the village to learn what they do. This guide explains where relics come from, how to appraise them, and what you find once you do in Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen.

Where Relics Come From

You get relics from defeated enemies, from chests, and from most other loot in Norgan. A strong enemy drops more than one. Each relic has a level, and the level sets its base stats. A level three weapon deals more damage than a level one weapon, and it carries more passives and skill upgrades.

Depth in Norgan sets the level you find. Level one relics appear near the entrance, and the numbers rise as you move further in. Enemies in the deep areas can defeat you in one hit, so go slowly.

How to Appraise a Relic

Take the unidentified relic to the Village Elder in the Norgan village. The Elder appraises it for the same currency you use to hire pawns. This currency gets little use in the base game, and you spend it often in the expansion.

After the appraisal, you see the passives on the relic. A weapon can carry a passive that builds up a status effect on enemies, and it can carry improved skills that change how a skill works. A thief bomb, for example, can gain a larger blast with several hits. A sorcerer Blizzard can gain a duration of about 15 seconds, with hail that freezes enemies in an area. Armor relics give passives for health, stamina, and protection.

How to Find Specific Relics

Your vocation and the vocation of your pawns raise the chance of drops for that vocation. An Obelisk also offers a buff that raises the chance of drops tied to its vocation for one day.

When your pack is full or you hold unidentified relics, use an Eternal Fairy Stone to return to the village, appraise the relics, and teleport back to a Port Crystal you placed in the area.

FAQ

Q. Who appraises relics?

A. The Village Elder in the Norgan village. The appraisal costs the same currency you use to hire pawns.

Q. Can I choose which type of relic drops?

A. Not directly. Your vocation and the vocations of your pawns raise the chance of matching drops. An Obelisk buff raises the chance for one day.

Q. Why do deeper areas of Norgan matter for relics?

A. Relic level rises with depth. Level one relics appear near the entrance, and higher levels appear further in, where enemies can defeat you in one hit.
