In Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, battles go quicker if you know where an enemy is most vulnerable and what tools to use when. This guide explains weak points, elements, healing, and how to use downed enemies and pawns.

Weak Points by Enemy
Saurians are vulnerable on the tail, so cut it off, or assassinate them while they are lying on their bellies. Fire deals extra damage to woolly enemies. Target the eyes of a Cyclops, which is also damaged by lightning and frost. An undead giant has its weak point in the big mouth. Slimes take extra damage from fire as well. Once you knock the undead mage boss out of the sky, it takes regular damage. The Dullahan takes extra damage from holy damage, so target the severed head it holds.
During a battle, your pawns call out weaknesses. Follow those calls and strike the weak point they name.

Elements and Buffs
A Mage provides elemental buffs, and you choose the element that matches the weakness of the target. There are also one use buffs that add an element to a weapon, or that cast an element skill, based on that weakness.
Healing and Revives
You can heal from the menu just before death. This prevents the death and saves a Wakestone. When several pawns are down, pick them up and drop them on top of each other. One revive raises all of them, because it covers an area.

Downed and Staggering Enemies
Execute a downed enemy with a heavy attack. Against a large boss, wait to execute until the boss is about to get up, since the boss starts to rise as soon as the execute ends. If an enemy is staggering and about to fall, run up to it, grab its leg, and push to knock it down.
Magic Barrier
A Mage and a Sorcerer both have the core skill Magic Barrier. When an attack is about to hit you, press the button, and you take no damage but lose stamina. If the attack drains all of your stamina, it goes through the barrier and deals damage. The skill suits small and medium attacks.
