Norgan has many levels of ground, and the Climbing Hook gives you a way to move between them. This guide covers how the hook works, where to find it, and how to move without it in Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen.

How the Hook Works
A Climbing Hook is a consumable item. You find hook posts around Norgan, and you use one hook on a post to create a rope you can climb. The rope leads to ledges you cannot reach on foot, down into a dungeon, or to a shortcut that saves travel time. Some Obelisks sit behind these ledges.
Where to Find Hooks
Hooks appear in the world, in hidden spots, and sometimes at vendors. You gather more of them as you progress. Each post uses up one hook, so you need to pick the posts you want.

Which Post to Use First
Use your first hook on the post near the Sorcerer Obelisk. The post cuts the trip from the village to that Obelisk, and it also shortens general travel in the area. Without a hook, go north out of the village, follow the road, and take the left turn at the stronghold.
Moving Without a Hook
A Mage or Sorcerer can levitate over many of these gaps. You can switch to one of those vocations to reach an Obelisk, then switch back.
