What the... #2 & Random Videos

Games by FetusZero on  Jul 25, 2010

As a manner of filling the holes in between the time that I get less lazy to work on my review and my featured blogs, I came upon something strange in the games I've been playing these days. In this blog, I present to you "What the... #2" and three random videos that I found on YouTube, videos that of course, entertained me to a minimum. Of course, I will provide some details as my appreciation for each of them, just so I maintain the so called Fetus virus alive.

For those who may not remember, "What the..." is basically a small series of videos that I make whenever I see something that makes me say "what the hell was that/is happening!?" in a video game. The previous and first video taking part in that series was from Cryostasis, and while I could have built the series with that game alone, I decided not to do so. As time flew by, I wondered if I'd see such a thing again with my current games, and no sooner than this morning did I stumble accross such a moment in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl. I definitely did not expect to include such a game in the small series of videos, despite it having such a strange atmosphere. As I was walking my way through some tunnels in the underground, I encountered enemies who were quickly taken care of. Now, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is filled with creatures of the Zone, which in most cases appear as mutated animals, but I was not ready for what was awaiting me. I decided to follow that said creature to get a closer look, but once it decided to turn around and face me I just didn't feel like risking it any longer. Here is the video:

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: SoC - Brain Damaged

Yep, I used the ending of my last Shadow of Chernobyl video as an introduction to the video, that's how lazy I can be ;p Now let's move on to some random videos which proved to be somewhat entertaining. Fear not though, most videos are quite short.

Valkyrie Profile finishing move: Valkyrie (Nibelung Valesti)

Nibelung Valesti! I always loved it when Lenneth says that. Valkyrie Profile has always been one of my favorite RPG to exist, and it definitely is easy to be my favorite in the genre considering I don't like RPGs. For some reason, VP has always interested me as it merges 2D Side Scrollers and Role Playing Games together so well. You wander around on the planet in search of warriors who are worthy of becoming Einherjars for a godly war. As you float above the world to search for these warriors, the game moves to a 2D Side Scroller view when entering a city, a dungeon and such. The enemies are visible to you and the first attackers is defined by who strikes first in all of its 2D Side Scrolling Action Platforming glory. You then enter the fight which is typical of RPGs, only each of your 4 characters are assigned to a button, and pressing that button makes them attack. You can then build up combos and find the perfect chains of button pressing for the deadliest attacks possible. Definitely an amazing game and I recommend it to everyone.. really, everyone.

Harehare Yukai - Rockman

I actually have no idea what the title of this video is because it is written in Japanese, but I do know that it is Megaman performing the Harehare Yukai dance which is seen in Haruhi Suzumiya, some kind of anime which I do not even know of, but it seems pretty popular. This video is quite literally hilarious lol, even the song was remixed in 8-bits for Megaman. There are no other reasons or details for this video other than it being pretty funny. All of this popped up to me while searching for some Megaman videos, quite honestly. YouTube is great for that: It gives you really random videos, even if you didn't search for it.

Megaman Drumming - Enjoy The Zoo

I had a hard time choosing the third video, but I decided to go with this one although I already posted a Megaman video in this blog. That guy simply amazes me, drumming to the song of Hardman.. Yes, I know, you don't need to point out the Robot Master's name again ;p
It isn't my favorite song in the Blue Bomber's universe, but mixed with the durmming skills it definitely sounds different and better than it originally was. The guy sure shows some skills there.

Well that's about it for today, I included these videos simply because my blog would have been much too short with only one video, Sleven will be proud of me for maintaining the virus alive :] Plus I won't get all those curious comments about how short my blog was ;p muahahaha.
