Writing: Side Lines of War

Something i just finished. as always, feedback welcome, hope you enjoy :)

I'm just a solder on the side lines of war
being forced to watch as more of my men hit the floor
locked out trying to get in as im beating on the door
i cant just sit back and watch this any more

command's orders to stay back
as im sitting here watching my crew fall under attack
this is my job to do and everything im best at
your secret weapon that your killing inside by holding back

you wanted me in this battle now here i am
now the gun fire starts and all you hear is click clack bam
and you cant even think as i beg the right to fight
i know you can hear me but you couldnt give a damn

the tone of all your orders
clouded in your head by the sounds of all the mortors
sorry but i can no longer follow your command
i got a job to do and i gotta make a stand
you're gonna thank me later when you wake up in the sand
and im the one standing there offering to help you up as im holding out my hand.
