Zelda Spirit Tracks: First Look
by Fishdalf on Mar 26, 2009
2007 brought the first Zelda game for the Nintendo DS. Now, scheduled to release this year, Link returns to the DS. But he isn’t sailing in on a boat. Or is he riding up on a horse. The Hero of Time is coming down the tracks in a train. That’s right. Choo-Choo!
A trailer was released at the Game Developers Conference showing the new game, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. The game will be a sequel to Phantom Hourglass. It has the same type of graphics; the Windwaker style. In the trailer we see Link using a train for transportation. There are no large seas from what the trailer shows. It supports the same mechanics as the previous DS game had. Button in the top right corner for your item, the menu on the bottom, hearts in the top left. Graphics are about the same, slightly enhanced in some areas. The game appears to be stylus based like Phantom Hourglass. You would swipe the stylus across the screen to swing your sword and then do other various movements such as using an item or even moving. There does seem to be this new ability where Link can command possibly defeated enemies. No word has yet been given on whether this game will support the DSi’s duel cameras. Boss battle look great and use both screens. We see Zelda in it as well so you all can figure she will get kidnapped again. Of course there is the chance Nintendo could try something new.
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks should be coming soon. We plan to keep you posted on all the upcoming news so keep an eye out. And next time your waiting on a train see if you can catch a glimpse of the conductor.
