Amazon Luna Ends Storefront and Subscriptions

Amazon Luna has said that a big update is coming that will affect how the platform functions in a big way. On April 10, 2026, Luna will no longer offer gaming stores, individual purchases, or subscriptions from other companies.

Until June 10, 2026, players can continue playing games they have already bought and take advantage of subscription perks. These games won't be playable on the platform after that date.

This change is surprising, especially since Luna has been working hard to add more books and improve the service. The platform had a good experience with low latency and an increasing number of titles.

Removal of Features and Third-Party Support

Some critical features will no longer be available as part of this upgrade. You can't buy things separately anymore, and the "bring your own library" feature is going away.

Other firms' subscriptions, such as Ubisoft Plus and Jackbox, are also going away. Luna will also no longer allow game stores from other companies, such as EA, Ubisoft, and GOG.

These changes mean that Luna is no longer a hybrid platform that brings together several ecosystems. The service is instead moving toward a simpler structure.

Access to Games and Saved Data

Players will still own the games they bought, even though the storefront's functionality has been removed. You will still be able to access your titles using the third-party accounts you linked when you bought them.

After June 10, 2026, users will have 90 days to get back the info that was recorded. They will have time to make gains now. There won't be any more fees because the monthly services will end right away.

There are no refunds for titles purchased, as all sales are final. But users can still play on other platforms, giving them another option.

A shift Toward Luna Premium

Luna itself is not going away, but many features are being removed. Instead, the platform is focusing on Luna Premium. This subscription service gives you access to a hand-picked library of games.

This concept eliminates the need for individual purchases, making it easier and more accessible. Amazon has also added new features, such as Game Night, to improve social and casual gaming.

As part of the transition, users will obtain a free Luna Premium subscription after June 10, 2026. This is supposed to keep people interested as the platform changes.

The modifications signal that the company is moving away from a marketplace model and toward a more controlled, subscription-based ecosystem.
