Intel Ultra Price Cuts Boost Value as DLSS 5 Faces Criticism
Intel Ultra processors gain improved value after price reductions align performance efficiency with competing Ryzen 9000 series chips.

Intel Arc GPUs are now supported by Crimson Desert. The previous limit is no longer in place; there is still no official driver support. The developers said they are working to make Intel Arc systems more compatible and better optimized to boost performance. The last message caused confusion because it urged consumers to request refunds when the game wouldn't start on these GPUs.
The situation made many worry about how many people got their money back for the game and could now think about buying it again. Right now, playing without the right driver support could cause performance problems, so waiting for official updates is still an option.

Intel Ultra CPUs Are More Valuable After Price Cuts
Recent reviews of the Intel Ultra 7 and Ultra 5 processors show that they are more efficient and perform better per watt. These CPUs are now closer to rival products because their prices have dropped by $100. Performance is more in line with Ryzen 9000 series chips, and the extra e-cores help with multi-threaded applications.
This setup is similar to past market techniques that offered more cores at a similar level of gaming performance. The price of the Ryzen 9600X has also gone down; it is now $190. The new pricing structure has made these processors a better value overall.
The AI Upscaling Debate About DLSS 5
People are still talking about AI-based upscaling technology. Statements from leaders show they understand concerns about AI-generated content. Still, they also say these outputs are visually consistent and appealing. But a technical explanation shows that DLSS 5 operates on 2D data and motion vectors rather than fully rebuilding 3D scenes.
Instead of changing the original frames, the method creates new frames based on the existing data. People have criticized this method because it makes all visual output look the same, even though the technology is generative.
Changes to Router Policy and Safety Issues
There is a new rule that affects routers made outside of the US. Imports will still come in, but firmware updates will stop after March 1, 2027. The reason given is cybersecurity issues, including potential threats to networks, infrastructure, and data security. Many of the routers people use are made in other countries, which makes it hard to replace them and switch to new ones.
The policy only applies to consumer routers; it doesn't apply to commercial or government systems. Companies can request permission to continue doing business under certain conditions. Microsoft Limits NVMe Driver Workarounds
Microsoft has stopped a widespread workaround that let Windows 11 systems use native NVMe drivers. The capability is still officially only available in server environments. There are still other ways to do things, but getting rid of the easier ones makes the others harder to reach. This modification could signal that the company is preparing for an official rollout in future upgrades.

Intel has said that it might change how it supports CPU sockets. Current platforms support only a few generations of processors, and they usually receive only small updates once a cycle. Users have said they don't like this strategy. New leaders in Intel's product, engineering, and marketing departments have said they have heard this input and that it will affect their future plans. There is no stated roadmap, but future designs may support more sockets.
