Cyberpunk 2077 is set to launch this November but the multiplayer portion is still years off. With CD Projekt RED offering some clarity about this part of the Cyberpunk 2077 world. Starting it will include microtransactions but is an entirely separate project.
In a tweet, the developers stated that the game will have some microtransactions but ensure customers get what they paid for.
Nothing changed. Cyberpunk 2077 is a single player game with zero microtransactions. One single purchase. No tricks. Don't believe the clickbait. https://t.co/qX0iZwsAf2

This isn't anything new as CD Projekt RED did confirm this awhile back. Stating they were looking into monetization options for the multiplayer part of the game.
CD Projekt RED is one of the most consumer-friendly companies in entertainment. The company is offering free upgrades to both Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for all customers who purchased this generation version. The company has also promised a combination of both free and premium updates for Cyberpunk 2077. Considering that both Blood and Wine and Hearts of Stone offered 20+ hours of additional content for less than $20 each whereas other companies charge nearly $100 for a cosmetic skin CD Projekt RED has gained a lot of positive reception from fans.
In comparison, companies like Activision and Take-Two Interactive are charging for upgrades for the next-gen version of current releases like Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and NBA 2K21.
For now, Cyberpunk 2077's multiplayer is years away but we'll have the single-player of Cyberpunk 2077 to keep everyone busy until then.
