Cyberpunk 2077 has just released and is already under heavy fire by those with health issues. The game contains no advanced warning - instead burying it deep in the EULA - that parts may contain content that can cause epileptic seizures. However, as part of the main story players are introduced to a location with bright strobing lights that has no way of being avoided. Others have reporter that the game’s interface and other cutscenes can also trigger mild to strong epileptic reactions.
CD Projekt RED has responded that a clear warning will be added in a future patch. They are also working on some kind of in-game option to reduce or remove the problem. However, internet trolls have used this information for malicious ends. Many posts on Twitter have been sent disguised as genuine support or concern, only to contain videos of the very scenes that cause seizures. For now, Cyberpunk 2077 and its community can be a serious and dangerous game for players that are photosensitive.
