Last year it was reported that Resident Evil 4 Remake was in development after Capcom surveys were sent. The project is apparently in development by Tatsuya Minami who founded PlatinumGames but apparently according to VGC the project is having major issues.
According to sources, M-Two who was founded partly by Capcom and includes developers from Bayonetta 2 and Metal Gear Rising Revengeance the role of the company would be reduced. With Capcom Division 1 now brought in to lead the project. This is due to disagreements with the project since M-Two wanted to remain loyal to RE4's template following RE3 Remake's backlash. Which saw major negative reception for not including major parts of the original and the lackluster dynamic encounters of Nemesis compared to the original. Not to mention the poorly received and unbalanced multiplayer mode that launched with major technical issues.
Resident Evil 4 is one of the most acclaimed and revolutionary games in the survival-horror franchise. Regarded as one of the best games of its generation and the survival-horror genre the title still holds up today against modern titles and has been ported and remastered many times for modern consoles. With such an acclaimed reputation many eyes are on this project to provide the same successful experience as the Resident Evil 2 2019 remake.
