360 dashboard slips out Gears of War 3 announcement

While Gears of War lead designer Cliff Bleszinski's appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon was pushed back to April 12, a blurb on the Xbox 360 dashboard accidentally revealed the third Gears title.

 

The blurb also mentions "the epic story concludes April 2011," implying the entire series or the current story will be coming to an end with this iteration.

 

Some rumours surfaced yesterday regarding the third title, such as being set in the summer and including underwater and jungle levels.

 

Monday's appearance on late night TV will be the first reveal for the game, which will likely be our only look until E3.
