Most classic releases never get updated, retaining the same core concepts of the original game. However, Nintendo isn't doing the same with Mario Bros., providing an online multiplayer option for the Nintendo Switch version.
Mario Bros. will be one of the first games to be offered when Nintendo Switch Online launches this month along with The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, and Super Mario Bros. 3.

Nintendo's online system will be required to play online when it goes live and will require $19.99 a year. It'll also grant users access to select free games that cycle and cloud storage.
