New Gears 5 Story Trailer Reveals Primary Antagonist

Gears 5's recent trailer showed off Horde Mode, now a new trailer is already up. Revealing more information about the story.

The trailer called "Kait Unleashed" shows the Gear getting locked into a machine and see a vision. What's shown is a Berserker, one of the deadliest enemies in the Gears universe being bred inside a tank. With Kait explaining that she has to kill it. What follows is a look at the various environments players will head into to kill this beast.

My guess, the Swarm are breeding a new Berserker. These deadly creatures were part of the Locust Horde and could only be killed using flame-based weapons or the Hammer of Dawn. They were blind and would kill without mercy both human and Locust. The Lambent Berserker was even more dangerous, completely immune to damage unless you caused damaged in its exposed chest when it opens. Perhaps this is the new Swarm leader and is being created by the Swarm.

A Berserker with an intelligent mind that can see, that's not good for humanity.

Gears 5 launches for Xbox One, PC, and through Xbox Game Pass this September 10th. With a special edition Xbox One launching the same day.
