Resident Evil 8 Rumors Surface, Stating the Game will be First Person and Star Ethan Again

Today, new rumors for Resident Evil 8 have surfaced. Despite the massive success of the remake of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 Remake launching soon, Capcom has been apparently hard at work with Resident Evil 8. With sources telling Eurogamer that it'll be first-person, just like Resident Evil 7, and star Ethan once again.

According to Eurogamer, who was following up on rumors starting on YouTube, stated that the game will be first person. And Ethan will be part of the game along with Chris Redfield. There's along rumors that a new Werewolve-like enemy will be in the game and zombies will be making a return. Some gamers have been uneasy at the introduction of a mythical creature within the Resident Evil series but I honestly always thought the Hunters looked like lizard Werewolves. And Capcom has created some inventive creatures using the mutations in these games.

Resident Evil 7 was a slight departure from the core series. Taking a first-person perspective and starring a new everyman character named Ethan. Despite gamers not liking Ethan a whole lot, mostly due to his stoic personality when encountering such horrible creatures, the game was a massive hit with fans.

Gamers did praise Capcom for returning to the survival-horror roots. With the Baker family becoming iconic figures within the franchise and the genre. Fans were also ecstatic that Capcom including a VR mode, exclusive to PlayStation, which allowed players to play through the entire game in VR.

I don't think we'll hear more about Resident Evil 8 until after Resident Evil 3 Remake's hype has died down. Maybe next year.
