Animal Crossing is Still Number 1 in The U.K. Charts

Animal Crossing: New Horizons launched to critical acclaim on March 20th, 2020 - just on the cusp of the Coronavirus pandemic sweeping the globe into turmoil.

The game offered a great deal of relief to players all over the world, as a form of escapism from a situation that denied them the core, human necessity of social interaction.

Nintendo's whimsical life-sim title has gone on to sell over 31 million copies worldwide and shows no sign of slowing down.

In the U.K., the game has still managed to retain its number 1 spot in the charts almost a year later.

2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

3. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

4. Ring Fit Adventure

5. Minecraft

6. Grand Theft Auto 5

10. Assasin's Creed Valhalla

Notably, the game manages to beat Assasin's Creed Valhalla and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War - games that are both considered heavy hitters and that released recently in November.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch platform.
