Arclundra on PSN

American PSP owners might want to start firing up their handheld. Coming Tuesday, the Playstation Network will be blessed with two classic PSOne RPG’s in the name of Alundra and Arc The Lad.

Alundra and Arc The Lad

Thanks to collaboration between MonkeyPaw Games and Gaijinworks, who both work to promote Japanese titles overseas, the games will once again grace Playstation screens.  Vic Ireland, from former Alundra publisher Working Designs, said: “It quickly became obvious that a Gaijinworks collaboration with MonkeyPaw would be a natural fit. John's building a company to expand the awareness of Japanese games, much like Gaijinworks, and together we can really quench gamers' thirst for quality classic gaming on download services like PlayStation Network in the West."

Both games will be available from October 12, 2010 for the meager price of $ 5.99 a piece! Do not hesitate to purchase both wonderful titles, as Ireland hinted “There are others in the pipeline behind these, so as long as the sales are good, we'll work to keep putting more up.” One title being prepared for next month is Arc The Lad II, which is part of a quadruple collection.

Sadly, European owners are once again left out of the picture, due to complications with Psygnosis; stated “SCEE is still on the fence on offering Alundra due to Psygnosis being involved because their European version is based on the WD English version.” But Ireland also said: “Hopefully the strong US PSN sales will help us move them to offer this in Europe as well.

So, don’t buy this game merely for yourself, America. Consider it your good deed of the day, to let the rest of the world enjoy the game through your labor.

I thank you in advance.
