Asteroids World Record Shattered

At around midnight Pacific Standard Time the nearly 30 year old Asteroids record was shattered on live Internet feed. John McAllister broke 41 Million points after a 57 hour marathon ending his run at a staggering 41,338,740 points. If the session is verified by the Guinness World Records Committee, then McAllister shall forever be considered the most hardcore Asteroids player in the world, at least until his record is broken.

The previous Asteroids record was 41,336,440, set in 1982 by Scott Safran. He died of a tragic accident in the late 1980's. McAllister immediately gave up after breaking the record, losing all his lives in a matter of seconds. After playing for nearly two and half days, though, this can probably be at least somewhat understandable.
