Bastion Teams With Warner Bros For XBLA

In an event waiting to happen, independent studio Supergiant Games has announced that it will be teaming up with powerhouse publisher Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment. The two will work towards releasing the very impressive action RPG Bastion to XBLA and (hopefully not much) later PC this year!
Personally, I’ve been bugging the programmers and waiting to play this title since its announcement a million years ago, because the slightest hints of it already inspired such a large quality value. I could be wrong though, but the small team is mostly game industry veterans, which makes the visual marvel of Bastion that more interesting. It is therefore not surprising to see a major publisher showing the same interest, as Bastion is quickly racking up interest and awards all over the indie community.
Greg Kasavin (ex-Gamespot and EA) from Supergiant Games stated that ‘not much’ would change to their independent approach towards releasing this title; as that sometimes would be when backed by large companies, claiming: “We’re still an independently owned game studio creating our first game and, with it, our own original IP. What Warner Bros. provides is the opportunity to release the game on Xbox LIVE Arcade.”
Unfortunately for you PS3 players, Supergiant Games has expressed that they aren’t planning a release on any other platform so far. Do you want that to change? I suggest getting in touch with them and bugging them right now.
