Battlefield Bad Company 2 PC Beta Delayed
News by Serbsta [NF] on Dec 01, 2009
Even though select PS3 users have already had a couple of weeks to fiddle with the new installment to the Battlefield Bad Company series, PC enthusiasts seem to have been left out. Here's what Producer Gordon van Dyke had to say about the whole issue on the official Battlefield blog:
The only bad news is the pushback ofcourse. Currently its been pushed to 'very early next year', but we all know how this can always change with further optimizations and upgrades always required before the beta is even playable. Here are some of the exclusive PC features that van Dyke discussed, which are probably worth the extra wait:
- Full Direct X 10 & 11 support, that means gaming on Windows 7.
- An increase from 24 (console) to 32 (PC) player maps has been implemented.
- Complete friend support.
- The use of peripherals such as joystiqs for planes as well visual enhancements such as Nvidia 3d vision.
- Clan support and private servers.
- Rentable dedicated ranked servers.
- Squad play system for systematic advantage in being able to control your squad before the game starts.
The exclusive features certainly seem to make up for the extension to the release of the beta and the dedicated servers give this title huge potential.
