Black Ops 2 Info Leak?
News by Craig Bryan on Mar 28, 2012
While nothing is official and all we have to go on at this point is conjecture – there has been a supposed leak doing the rounds listing off possible new features that we may see in the next Call of Duty installment, rumoured to be Black Ops 2.
The next game in the series will represent the ninth installment and the third developed by Treyarch, who are responsible for the hugely popular Black Ops, and while nothing is confirmed, releasing a sequel makes sense on both a business and a gaming level.

Some of the new features listed include a game mode called ‘Escort’ that is similar to Search and Destroy, only you must escort one of your team members to a specific location without them being killed. It also states that Drop Zone and Kill Confirmed, both currently played by millions, will make a return. Other features indicate more emphasis on objectives, with planting a bomb soon to be worth two valuable points towards your killstreak.
Speaking of killstreaks, the current Specialist package will see a revamp according to the list, allowing you to unlock more perks earlier to help balance everything out and allow it to compete with assault killstreak rewards.
One thing that does tip this list off as a hoax though is the mention of a ‘heat vision’ weapon attachment that would allow you to see through walls and such if a certain number of kills were met, mentioning of the upgrade not available to shotguns. This seems ludicrous and alienating a specific weapon type just doesn’t seem like something that would ever happen.

The only meat to this supposed leak is that it has mysteriously disappeared from many sites over the past day or two without rhyme or reason, and if it is indeed Treyarch themselves that are removing it this could just be their way of stopping the circulation of misinformation.
All we know for certain at this point is there will be a new COD title released this year, and judging by past releases we should see it between late October and mid-November. We will be sure to update you on the details of any announcements as and when they happen and look to discuss them in some in-depth features we have planned in the coming months.
