Borderlands Locked to PC Buyers
News by Craig Bryan on Oct 24, 2009
Those who have bagged themselves an early copy of Borderlands for the PC will be less than pleased when they discover that they won’t be able to play it until release day.
The game has been equipped with a required online activation that won’t allow access until October 26 in North America and October 30 everywhere else.
Elizabeth Tobey, community manager for 2K Games, when confronted about the issue stated, "It is not possible for us to move the planned release date of the game forward. I am sure all of you want our PC launch to be as successful as possible, and we simply won't be able to manage that any earlier than already planned."
Online petitions are already increasing in number and gamers are determined to have their voice heard. The controversial issue all seems to stem back to Half-Life 2, which featured a similar security feature in Steam, and is still the target of many complaints still.
