City of Heroes Will Be No More
News by Megan Bethke on Sep 01, 2012
The game that brought comic books to life and put players in the shoes of a superhero or villain is coming to an end. Thousands of gamers will suddenly find themselves with more free time when the streets of Paragon City are empty. The MMORPG will cease to exist come the end of the year.

A sad goodbye to a game adored by thousands since 2004.
On August 31st Paragon Studios, the developers behind City of Heroes, announced they will soon be closing. All development on the game has stopped and preparations have begun for the eventual demise of City of Heroes.
Effective immediately all recurring subscription billing and market purchases will be discontinued. More information on the end of Paragon Studios' services will be announced within the next few weeks.
News of Paragon Studios' closing was disclosed internally prior to the public announcement and developers were praised for their skills. Paragon Studios' community manager wrote:
"These developers are some of the most creative and talented people in the gaming industry." and "To any potential studios looking to grow your team; hire these people. You won't regret it."
A large thank you has been given to the City of Heroes' community for their support and encouragement. For more information regarding this disheartening announcement visit the official City of Heroes website.
