Developers Smilegate and Remedy Entertainment have announced that CrossfireX will be officially delayed until 2021 due the COVID-19 pandemic. CrossfireX is to be the third installment of the free-to-play shooter series. The game was originally set to be released at the end of 2020, but is now pushed into 2021 at an undetermined month:

After much deliberation, and in consideration of the challenges faced by the Smilegate development team due to COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to delay the release of CrossfireX to 2021.
Moving our release will allow us to deliver the Crossfire experience on console our team set out to create. We’ll have more to share in the future.

The original Crossfire was released for PCs back in 2007 and become a smash hit within the Asian region. While Smilegate will be focusing on the multiplayer aspect of CrossfireX, Remedy Entertainment was brought on board to create a new single player experience.
