Crysis Dev Crytek Creating THQ Homefront Sequel [Remain Calm]

Some people cry when their hugely advertised games don’t get the reviews they wanted. Some even close a whole bunch of studios because of it. And while THQ didn’t fall short of the latter, unfortunately, they did however decide to not just sit there and take it like a streetwalker with dead eyes. We are naturally talking about their expected sequel for Homefront, which actually still sold very well.

Not even the police could calm the crowd's disbelief.

The publisher just announced to wisely employ the elite of the shooter genre; the men who can’t fail when it comes to FPS. The yet to be named sequel to Homefront will be developed by none other than Crysis studio, Crytek! I’ll wait for your pants to dry up.

Are we good? Good; here’s an excerpt of the freshly baked press release: “We see Homefront as a strong universe that has a lot of potential,” said Cevat Yerli, Founder, CEO and President of Crytek.  “We believe that bringing our level of quality […] to the next Homefront title, creates an opportunity for both THQ and Crytek to deliver a blockbuster game.  It’s really important to us that THQ has the faith in giving us a lot of creative freedom over one […] to allow us to bring the Homefront world to life in a new and innovative way.”

This is happening, please remain calm.

Fans will have plenty of time to find some unsoiled pants though, as the sequel isn’t planned to come out until 2014 for both consoles and PC. Oh, and did you know the year in Homefront is 2027? That’s the same year as Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I’m sure Adam didn’t ask for this!
