Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most anticipated games this generation. The game has been receiving heavy praised and pre-orders are flooding in. With CD Projekt RED now revealing new gameplay footage for the public, highlighting the various routes and options available to the player.
For those who saw the E3 2019 closed doors presentation, this isn't new information. But CD Projekt RED went beyond what was spoken during that press event, revealing how the player can choose who to trust and how to tackle the various options available to them.
The trailer only highlights 2 of the builds but these are only a few options of what the player will have access to.
For example, Solos are shoot first and ask questions later builds. Able to take damage and deal just as much, ripping turrets from their mounting positions, using the strongest NPCs in the game as meat shields, and destroying electronically locked doors.
Netrunners use cloak and daggers approach. Hacking their way through security, even hacking other people. Netrunners are not meant to take on brute force opponents but can find out ways to kill them.
Pacifica was also shown, a low-income area that houses the most dangerous people. Including the best place for illegal upgrades. The trailer provides a look at the Voodoo boys, a Haitian gang that worships technology and rules Pacifica.
The Animals are a rival gang that uses Juice, a type of steroid that makes them into hulk-like creatures. We're given a small snippet of one of their hideouts as V infiltrates the building using either a Solo or Netrunner build. Ending with an encounter with another faction, Netwatch; the most organized and powerful company in Cyberpunk 2077. Here V is given a choice, betray the Voodoo boys, who sent V into a trap, or remain loyal to the cause and continue to develop a relationship.
In addition, Johnny Silverhands, played by Keanu Reeves, is another potential ally or enemy. Although he's just a manifestation of data linked to you he has his own interest and desire. It's up to you to decide whether to make him into an ally or foe.
Cyberpunk 2077 launches on April 16, 2020, on PlayStation 4, Google Stadia, Xbox One, and PC.
