Diablo IV Might Have Server Issues on the Day of Its Release
Blizzard claims that they are prepared, let’s see if they can handle the massive amounts of players hopping into the servers.

There is approximately a week left until the release of Blizzard’s next big title, Diablo IV. Just like the release of previous games in the series, Blizzard is expecting huge amounts of traffic to its servers and there is no doubt that it will most likely happen. Though they did stress tests on beta releases, they are still not sure if their servers are capable of handling millions of players, trying to connect and play at the same time.
So in order to let players know, Blizzard had a statement about experiencing hiccups of internet connection problems during the gameplay and connecting to servers. Diablo IV’s general manager, Rob Fergusson stated that they are definitely prepared, unfortunately it is totally unknown if the servers can handle it. Few months ago, in March, Blizzard did an early access beta test to only a small number of players to test the waters. In feedback, they got a lot of nifty information on how to make servers more durable, and fix bugs that might be caused during the actual release. Rob Fergusson further stated that the Super Slam open beta test between 12th and 14th of May allowed them to address more bugs in the code and connection. It was even more helpful than the first beta because it included all consoles that Diablo IV is planned to publish on.
Still, we know about how much workload Blizzard servers will get on the day of release. Diablo III had a similar fate with its release, sometimes players finding themselves in a queue of days in order to enter a single server. Let’s hope it doesn’t happen again with Diablo IV.
Diablo IV will be released in 6th June next week for PC, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
