In an update on their official blog, DICE has provided new information about the long awaited Battlefield 3 and revealed new details about the Assault, Engineer, Recon and Support classes.

Assault  - The Assault class will incorporate the Medic class, available in previous games. According to the developer, since this type of soldier is prepared to risk situations will be carrying medical kits and defibrillators to help other players.

Engineer - This class will work more like mechanics, being responsible for the equipment and vehicles repair. The difference is that this time, they can also use this expertise to wipe out enemy tanks and other weapons.

Recon - This class also improved as compared to previous games. It maintains the sniper characteristic, but will also have access to accessories that will benefit the squad teamwork.

Support - On the other hand this class brings a greater variety of weapons, as it has an arsenal ranging from pistols to rifles with simple tactics to disrupt the  adversaries, creating a blurring effect in the enemy.

According to DICE, these new features will make the difference between classes and Assaults become even greater as this will greatly influence the way we act every soldier in combat. For the studio, the characteristics of each platoon will vary according to the weapons they use and it will be essential in the gameplay.
