E3 2010: Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Announced

To kick off their E3 2010 press conference, Electronic Arts took the wraps off its Criterion-developed Need for Speed reboot.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit brings the series back to its roots, with exotic cars and epic police chases, while bringing it into the future with its connectivity. The Autolog feature will update users on how their friends are doing and if they've broken any previously-set lap times, for example.

Criterion's creative director Craig Sullivan said the Burnout developer is reimagining the franchise for the connected generation, and that Autolog is a part of that connectivity.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit races out of the gate on Nov. 16.
