eSports Coming to Gears of War

The Coalition is bringing eSports to Gears to War starting with Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. Those wanting to join the madness can sign up on ESL’s official site, play online in Open Series Cups, Pre-Season Cups and Pre League Qualifiers that each have a $500 prize pool from September to October. 

8 Teams complete weekly in the ESL Gears of War Pro League that will be broadcasted on Twitch.tv, the top 4 teams who make it will have their skills tested at the Live Event Finals broadcasted over Twitch.tv for $50,000 in January 2016.

“We are honored to confirmed we’re partnering with ESL and Twitch to create two eSports programs for Gears of War: Ultimate Edition - the Gears of War Pro League by ESL and the Gears of War Open Series by ESL, both presented by Xbox. Gears of War fans and professional gamers alike will be able to compete starting this September in Season 1, and carry the battle on to Season 2 expected next spring.”
