Famed Streamer Dr. Disrespect Creating Game Studio
Dr. Disrespect is branching out
News by Grayshadow on Aug 10, 2021
Dr. Disrespect is a notorious streamer that was banned off Twitch last year. The information regarding that is still unknown but since then the streamer, Herschel "Guy" Beahm IV, has moved to YouTube to great success. Now the Doctor is looking to branch out into video game development with an ad looking for a Game Studio Head.
According to the post, Dr. Disrespect is looking to create an AA/AAA gaming studio and partner with influencers to work on a future title.
Dr Disrespect in partnership with BoomTV is taking on the game industry by storm and incubating a new AA/AAA gaming studio that has a unique twist to it. The studio plans to forge a partnership with a select list of mega influencers and then work closely with them to launch their dream gaming title. Those gaming titles will either be incubated and developed OR partner/co develop with existing indie game developers and launched as mega titles.
If you have built and run a gaming studio or publishing arm, understand what it’s like to hire, lead, motivate and support a team of gaming artists, designers and developers, love trying new and upcoming platforms and tech, can talk hours about core gaming loops, meta and are not afraid to dabble in data, then this might be the role for you.
You will lead a team to build games, You will work within a fast-paced environment spearheading design, art, core gaming loops, meta, viral and retention loops and iterate monetization, go to market, integrated esports and influencer marketing. You will be working along with a team of smart, result-oriented high achievers who have scaled products to millions of users before, and you will be joining a proven world-class and well-funded team.
The post does detail that the studio does plan to release games on all platforms except mobile.
Dr. Disrespect does have experience within game development as he has worked with Sledgehammer Games as a community manager. He also worked as a level designer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
Considering the Doctor's long career working in the gaming industry, large following, and high-profile contacts such as ZLaner, Ninja, and Shroud he does have the notoriety and capital for such a venture. However, the gaming industry, especially in development, is cutthroat. Companies can go under after a single release but nothing ventured nothing gained.
