There’s always new information coming out about it, so fans are still waiting for Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. Recently, director Naoki Hamaguchi revealed a lot of information regarding the upcoming RPG.

In the past few weeks, interviews and sneak peeks have revealed new information about everything from how the game's story progresses and its side content to activities that take place at the end of the game and the future of the team working on the much-praised remake trilogy. One of the first things people talk about is the evolution of the game’s levels.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation expands endgame exploration

Hamaguchi claimed there will be no restrictions on how far players can level up and that characters can reach 99. The higher level indicates the game is meant to be played for a long time, as it provides players with ample space to build their party stronger than in prior games.

There seems to be a direct effect from the larger advancement mechanism on the journey as a whole.

There’s probably a lot of stuff you can choose not to play, like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth,” says Hamaguchi. However, the development team seems to know that some of the more repetitious duties in Rebirth have come under fire. A lot of players thought Rebirth was one of the best RPGs of the past several years, but others thought parts of its open-world stuff was largely filler and not very beneficial for gameplay.

Goals such as scaling a tower and repetitive duties were commonly cited as material that made games linger longer without genuinely improving the experience. These things are concerning, but Hamaguchi was adamant that Revelation will not be dialing back its optional events. The team is instead focusing on making side content more player-driven and accessible, so players can interact with it on their own.

The new method is more about choosing. If you only want to focus on the primary tale, you can do that without becoming lost in too many side activities. But those who prefer to try out every system and mini-game will also have plenty of opportunities to learn more about the world and its inhabitants. “Many of the optional tasks will be more about building characters and the world,” explains Hamaguchi.

Some mini-games and side tasks will introduce new story elements or help players learn more about certain party members. This gives players more motivation to join than extra playing time alone. The development team will have to work hard to make the optional features feel useful rather than merely repetitive. Fans are hoping Revelation can maintain the wonderful side activities from Rebirth and ditch the sections fans believed were needless fluff.

Fans are eagerly looking forward to the return of Queen’s Blood, the beloved card game that debuted in Rebirth.

Queen’s Blood will be back with huge enhancements, which many consider one of the best add-ons to the game. One of the biggest changes to Queen’s Blood is the connection to Red XIII. The “Rebirth” mini-game was largely associated with Cloud. But the extended plot of "Revelation" is claimed to include Red XIII as the primary figure.

With this addition, the card game can now be used to learn more about the characters and enhance the entertaining gameplay features that made Queen's Blood so renowned. Hamaguchi has gone so far as to say that the new version may be superior overall to the older one in terms of balance and quality. Queen’s Blood is so complex that many fans argue that the mini-game requires its own crew to make sure it’s balanced and well-designed.

It was previously known as Gwent, a standalone card game that began as a side pastime but grew into something more due to its popularity and depth. One of the great things about Revelation is that Queen's Blood is coming back for those who put in a lot of time learning it in Rebirth. Another big feature garnering a lot of buzz is the Highwind airship.

The iconic car will keep driving across the world map, exactly like it did in the first Final Fantasy 7, Hamaguchi said. And most of all, gamers will have more freedom than ever when they use the airplane. The Highwind may now jump and land in practically any part of the world, substantially expanding the possibilities of exploration.

Now, strategic landings can enable reaching destinations that previously required other modes of transportation.

The improved mobility is intended to enhance the experience by making it smoother and more immersive, reducing the boundaries between exploration and play. Fast transit will also let players quickly return to the Highwind after landing, ensuring discovery remains seamless and not difficult. The result is a mobility system that feels much more alive than anything in the first two games in the series.

Perhaps the biggest breakthrough was the outline for the game’s endgame. Unlike Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth, which largely invited players to replay the adventure on harsher settings after completing it, Revelation will provide stuff that is only available at the conclusion. Hamaguchi said gamers would find a handful of the series’ renowned weapons throughout the plot. But some of the hardest fights will be voluntary, available only to those who want the biggest challenge.

These fights are designed to be like the iconic super bosses Ruby Weapon and Emerald Weapon from the original game, requiring highly tuned characters and a lot of strategy to defeat. The significant chores at the end of the game show that Square Enix wants players to continue interacting with the world after the credits roll, rather than starting over right away. For people who prefer to finish everything and play RPGs all the time, this may be one of the nicest parts of the game.

The increased level cap and further focus on long-term growth make the post-game experience more fulfilling than prior games, which this strategy suits well. Hamaguchi also spoke about what he will do following the trilogy of remakes, and spoke about Revelation. He seems to be determined to continue working in the RPG area, although he noted that he probably won’t be working on another remake project next.

Some of these picks are heading a fresh new RPG series or maybe the next mainline Final Fantasy game.

Hamaguchi’s possible involvement with Final Fantasy 17 has already had the gaming community talking. Many consider him to be one of Square Enix’s most influential creative minds, especially following the massive success of the remake trilogy. Also, the stability of the production team is highly vital. Hamaguchi claimed roughly 90 to 95 percent of those who worked on Remake and Rebirth had remained with the trilogy throughout its advancement. Such continuity is harder to achieve in game production nowadays and is regarded as a large part of the project's success.

As the release date of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation draws ever closer, the mix of more opportunities to explore, better side material, a compelling finale, and strong leadership has further raised hopes. We still don’t know if the game will manage to mix its massive scope with meaningful gameplay, but Square Enix seems keen to make this the most ambitious game in the trilogy ever.
