Kingdom Hearts 4 Leak Reveals Possible Star Wars World and Several Major Disney Locations
A Steam achievement leak appears to reveal possible worlds, gameplay systems, and story details, with Star Wars among the biggest surprises.

Something significant appears to have happened with Kingdom Hearts 4 over the past few days, potentially putting a giant portion of the surprises Square Enix planned to reveal gradually over the next year onto the internet. This is more than a small detail about Sora's new outfit or another bit of minor information.
The leaked material is said to point to worlds connected to Star Wars, Zootopia, Haunted Mansion, and the return of Toy Story, while also revealing possible gameplay systems and hints about how the game's story could be structured.

Apparently the info is coming from Steam, which makes this situation all the more interesting.
If the leaked data is legit, Kingdom Hearts 4 may be dealing with one of its biggest leaks so far, especially since some of the information seems to come straight from the game’s achievement data. Square Enix has been slowly doling out more information regarding the game, but this leak may have ruined some of those planned surprises a bit too soon for the company’s liking.
There had already been considerable movement around Kingdom Hearts 4 in recent months. New footage was shown in June, and at D23 in August, Square Enix officially confirmed that the game is targeting the second half of 2027 while also revealing the Coco world.
Series creator and director Tetsuya Nomura and Tai Yasue were also clear that the 2027 release target had not changed, with the game confirmed for PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC.
That announcement effectively marked the beginning of the game's proper marketing campaign. After years of simply knowing that Kingdom Hearts 4 was coming without having much concrete information, Square Enix finally started giving fans a clearer picture of what to expect.
The way the leak happened is also worth noting. Achievement-tracking websites like Exophase and SteamDB suddenly showed achievement information for dozens of unreleased games, including Kingdom Hearts 4.
According to the explanation surrounding the incident, data that was supposed to remain private within the Steam API may have briefly become publicly accessible, allowing the achievement information to be collected and displayed.
Around 50 achievements reportedly appeared for Kingdom Hearts 4.
Square Enix has not officially confirmed that all of these achievements are genuine, so treat this information as unofficial. However, this is also different from an ordinary rumor posted on a forum because the information appears to have originated from Steam's backend, which is why the leak has attracted so much attention.

The biggest apparent reveal is Star Wars. One achievement reportedly references a world called "A Galaxy Far, Far Away," while another story achievement is titled "May the Light Be With You," which strongly points toward the Star Wars universe.
When the first Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer was released, fans spent considerable time examining individual frames and trying to determine whether an AT-ST foot could be seen in a forest resembling Endor. At the time, that was little more than a theory based on a few frames of footage.
That still does not make Star Wars officially confirmed until Square Enix shows the world itself, but completely dismissing the possibility is becoming increasingly difficult. If the achievement is genuine, Square Enix could be sitting on one of the biggest Kingdom Hearts 4 reveals yet.
Star Wars is not the only potential world mentioned in the leaked information.
"Toy Box" reportedly appears in the list, which strongly suggests that Toy Story could be returning after its appearance in Kingdom Hearts 3. There is also a location called Savanna Central that appears to point toward Zootopia, while Haunted Mansion is reportedly named directly.
Coco is already officially confirmed through its Land of the Dead setting, while another location called Monochrome Origins has attracted attention because the name sounds like it could refer to some kind of classic black-and-white Disney-inspired world. Hundred Acre Wood and Scala ad Caelum also appear in the information, alongside another location called Imagineer Planet that is currently much harder to identify.
It is important not to assume that every name in the achievement list represents a massive traditional Kingdom Hearts world. Some could be full story chapters, smaller playable areas, or locations designed around specific activities rather than complete worlds.
The achievements connected to Scala ad Caelum, for example, reportedly mention collecting books and completing time trials, which could indicate that certain locations have a different purpose within the overall game.

The potential structure of the worlds may actually be more engaging than the number of locations themselves. The Star Wars section appears to contain two separate story achievements labeled Episode 1 and Episode 2, while Coco's Land of the Dead also seems to be divided into two sections.
That would be a notable change from how some of Kingdom Hearts 3's worlds handled things.
You could spend a significant amount of time in a world, finish its story, and then move on without necessarily having much reason to return. If Kingdom Hearts 4 allows you to revisit the same worlds later for major story developments, the game could have fewer total worlds while giving each location considerably more content.
That approach also fits with comments Nomura made after D23. He explained that Kingdom Hearts 4 would not have a large number of worlds because the development team is putting an extremely high level of detail into each one.
For that reason, a smaller world count does not necessarily mean a smaller game. The development team appears to be prioritizing density and detail instead of simply filling the game with as many Disney locations as possible.
The achievements also show several returning gameplay features. Gummi routes seem to be making a comeback, with seven different route bosses allegedly listed. It looks like Lucky Emblems, world-specific treasure collecting, the Ultima Weapon, and training challenges are also returning, which will give Kingdom Hearts 4 a mix of familiar systems and new mechanics.
Some of the new systems are more difficult to understand at this point. The list reportedly includes Scrap Commands and Build Finishers, with an achievement connected to unlocking all of them for a Keyblade. There is also an achievement for reaching 100 points in Sora's current role value and another for obtaining equipment at maximum rarity.
Those details may indicate that the Build mechanic shown in the first Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer is more important than it seemed at first.
It’s not just some flashy mechanic who’s only used for one sequence but maybe tied to a larger progression system. The leaked achievements don’t give us enough context to tell exactly how it works, but they hint that customization and progression could be bigger than expected.

A particularly weird accomplishment is related to something called Royal Chain. Its description reportedly involves killing ten rival players, immediately suggesting the potential for player-versus-player content.
The same uncertainty applies for Imagineer Planet. The name may imply a place with a Disney Parks and Imagineering culture theme, but there is not enough information to know what it really stands for. This is one of the problems with achievement leaks because the names can provide exciting clues without explaining how those features fit into the actual game.
The story itself is already shaping up to be considerably larger than initially expected, even without the leaked information. Nomura has reportedly said that the script is nearly twice as long as Kingdom Hearts 3's, while Japanturning outrecording has already been completed, and English and other international recordings are said to be around 60 to 70 percent finished.
Sora will also be working with a group called the Dandelions in Quadratum, while characters such as Vali and Sigurd from the χ series are being brought directly into the main story. The latest trailer shows Riku in Quadratum, while Donald and Goofy connect to the Underworld side of the story. Mickey is also expected to appear in playable sections.
This suggests that Kingdom Hearts 4 is not simply repeating the formula of Sora traveling from one Disney world to another. The game is also bringing years of lore from the mobile games and the wider Kingdom Hearts universe into the mainline story.

The timing of the leak makes the situation even more unfortunate for Square Enix.
The company has said development is entering its final stages, while it is still targeting a release in the second half of 2027. Nomura has also indicated that another major information drop may not happen immediately because the team wants to focus on development, meaning fans could have spent months speculating about which world would be revealed next.
If the achievement leak is legitimate, some of those surprises may already be out there. Seeing Star Wars officially revealed for the first time in a major trailer would obviously have a different impact than discovering "A Galaxy Far, Far Away" through an achievement list.
For now, the official information remains straightforward: Kingdom Hearts 4 is targeting the second half of 2027, Coco is confirmed, and development is progressing toward release. The leaked achievement list potentially adds Star Wars, Toy Story, Haunted Mansion, Zootopia, and several other locations to that picture, while also hinting at returning systems and new progression mechanics.
