Announced last fall, with 300 participants receiving beta builds in December, many have been anxiously waiting for more news regarding Valve's Steam Machine. Wait no more; Valve has revealed fourteen Steam Machine designs all with target release dates falling somewhere in 2014.
Each Steam Machine will come with the familiar Steam Controller and will be powered by the SteamOS. The cheapest Steam Machine will cost around $500 with the more expensive machines running well into the thousand dollar price range.
Here's the complete list:
-Alienware
-Alternate
-CyberPowerPC
-Digital Storm
-Falcon NW
-GigaByte
-iBuyPower
-Maingear
-Material.net
-Next Spa
-Origin PC
-Scan
-Webhallen
-Zotac
Valve seems to be looking out for us gamers while attempting to bring Steam into the living room with Gabe Newell saying, "With over 3,000 games and more than 65 million gamers on Steam, it’s important to offer gamers a variety of Steam Machines that allow them to select what makes the most sense for them."
This welcomed variety brings a hefty price tag and may slim down the options available depending on one's price range. With the cheaper designs costing as much as an Xbox One, will you be purchasing a Steam Machine or will you be sticking with your PC/console?
