The game was originally planned for Xbox Live Arcade

Over two hours of footage has surfaced showing a canceled GoldenEye 007 remake, which was originally planned to release for Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA).
An entire playthrough of the game is provided along with a demonstration of some multiplayer levels.
The game sees a substantial visual upgrade, though music and sound effects remain the same as they were in the original.
The footage was posted by user Graslu00, who provided more information about the leak in the video description.
The user said they couldn't say how they acquired the footage, but did disclose that they'd been told: "it'll be released in 2021". What this release entails, isn't clear.
An interview between Videogamer.com and Rare senior software designer Nick Burton was also provided in the description.
Speaking on why this XBLA remake had never been released, Burton had this to say:
"That was a tricky one. To be fair, I kind of wished that the differences got sorted out, but obviously there's the licensing issue for Bond, even if it's something that's already come out. It's incredibly hard to solve because there's so many licence holders involved. You've got the guys that own the license to the gaming rights now, the guys that have the licence to Bond as an IP, and there are umpteen licensees. Me, just personally, I thought, God, that's a difficult problem to solve."
According to Graslu00, more information will be revealed soon.
If you're hankering for a more modern GoldenEye 007, there was a remake that reached high acclaim released for the Wii in 2010.
There's also a 007 title in the works by developers IO Interactive, which represents their next big project following the conclusion of the Hitman series.
