Free Speed!

Racing MMO Need For Speed (NFS) World went Free To Play yesterday, so announced EA. This was done because they surpassed 1 million registered users. Prior to that, the game had a Level 10 cap that required you to pay if you wanted to proceed playing and discovering. Now, you’ll be able to do all the fun things you want and blaze your way to Level 50, if you so desire.

Need For Speed World: Free Race MMO and chicks. What more do you want?

We've listened to the comments from our community and we've decided to make a change. Previously, gamers who didn't buy the Starter Pack were unable to progress past Level 10. Beginning today, anyone will be able to race all the way through to Level 50 and will have full access to the entire World, all Events and Game Modes, both present and future,” dixit NFSDrew on the Need for Speed blog.

To celebrate this joyous occasion, yours truly has signed up to race the mean streets of NFS World. And in the hour or so I gazed out of my windshield, I’ve already won my first street race, deplorably lost a forest race, experienced the joys and pains of multiplayer and had one of the most epic police chases known to mankind and won!

I don’t know about you, but this is the perfect formula for a race game for me. I’d seldom buy a race game, but one that is free to play, easy to access and fun to play with a load of users is exactly down my narrow alley.

Of course, there’s still a paying formula to the game as well. You can buy all sorts of micromanaged items to enhance and accelerate your progress.

Come join me on the fun today!
